HyperionDev, Southern Africa’s leading tech education provider, is partnering with reigning Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert and computer company, ASUS to offer tech scholarships in South Africa. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in HyperionDev’s mission to strengthen skills development and enhance employability across the country.

As part of this initiative, HyperionDev and ASUS will each sponsor five coding scholarships for individuals aiming to build a career in technology. The scholarships will enable the selected students to participate in HyperionDev’s comprehensive six-month Full Stack Web Developer Bootcamp, which includes official certification and access to the HyperionDev 90-Day Bespoke Graduate Programme, providing valuable skills and support to kickstart their careers in technology.

HyperionDev CEO and Founder Riaz Moola said: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Miss South Africa, marking a significant stride in HyperionDev’s mission to uplift South African youth through skills development and meaningful employment opportunities.

“Our primary goal extends beyond upskilling; we are dedicated to fostering the talents of our participants and assisting them in finding gainful opportunities in the workforce. The partnership with Miss South Africa is a testament to our commitment to this cause.”

Moola further emphasised the significance of ASUS’ generous sponsorship commitment, allowing unemployed students to enrol in HyperionDev’s Data Science bootcamp. “This collaboration aligns seamlessly with our vision of creating pathways for talented individuals to excel in the tech space, fostering a positive impact on their lives and the broader community,” he added.

Juan Mouton, ASUS Country Marketing Manager, South Africa, agreed: “We are delighted to join forces with Natasha and HyperionDev to make a tangible difference in the lives of the South African youth.”

An overjoyed Joubert stated: “I am grateful that my campaign is helping some young people achieve more than they dreamed they would. The overwhelming response has strengthened my resolve to help and my commitment to do as much as possible in the education and entrepreneurial spaces to make a difference in some people’s lives. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say again that education should never be a privilege limited to the fortunate few.”

HyperionDev, known for its database where students looking to enrol for learnerships upload their details, uses this stored information to match companies and learners – hyper-focusing on the needs of one and the skills and abilities of the other.

A competition will decide on the 10 winning candidates. All entrants must produce a motivational video, post it on social media, and register with all their details on the HyperionDev database.

The ASUS/HyperionDev campaign opened on April 9. Entries will close on April 19, 2024. Scholarship eligibility is open to all residents of South Africa, regardless of background or experience.

The names of the 10 lucky recipients will be announced on April 30 this year.
