Why Lyubomir chose HyperionDev for data science
Before joining the bootcamp, Lyubomir was a student with some basic coding experience. His desire to upskill and change his career trajectory led him to the Data Science bootcamp at HyperionDev. When asked about his motivation to choose HyperionDev, Lyubomir highlighted two key reasons. “One, I just wanted to learn skills that can help me become more efficient with mundane tasks. Two, there is an incredibly high demand for data scientists, and I found the field very interesting.”
Bootcamp experience and overcoming challenges
Balancing university studies, part-time work, and the bootcamp was challenging for Lyubomir. “It was quite hard to go to university, work part-time, and keep up with the bootcamp,” he admits. However, he managed to handle these demands effectively through hard work, good planning, and organisation.
During the bootcamp, Lyubomir engaged deeply with the curriculum and resources provided. “The lessons were very engaging, and there were plenty of career sessions that were very useful,” he notes.
One significant project he worked on involved using Spacy as an NLP tool. “I deployed it in one of the tasks at my current job where I had to compare the values in two different fields across thousands of rows before I could then order these fields in a specific format,” he shares. This hands-on experience helped him develop practical skills and prepare for real-world challenges.
Securing a Data Engineer role before graduation
Before completing the bootcamp, Lyubomir secured a job as a Data Engineer at Alpha FMC. “I now work as a data engineer. I’m currently designing the data architecture for a company in financial services. I utilised the data science skills gained from this bootcamp to identify the relationships between all the Objects in their database and to transform some of the data for a specific purpose. Then I moved to creating new tables by writing SQL and using ETL tools.”
