Posted by

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey towards revolutionising tech education globally. We have secured a total amount of R595 million (approximately £25.1 million) in growth capital from a number of private investors, enabling us to expand our South African and UK operations, enter new markets, build out our offerings, and create more access to impactful tech education for all learners. This latest injection of funding fuels our ambition to create more opportunities for learners worldwide to study with us and leading university partners.

Strengthening partnerships for impact

We partner with leading global and local institutions, including esteemed organisations like the UK’s Department for Education, Imperial College London, and The University of Manchester. Notably, our partnership with Stellenbosch University in South Africa has played a pivotal role in shaping our success story, enabling us to reach new heights in tech education.

Bridging the gap: Impactful coding bootcamps

Our bootcamps are more than just coding courses: they are pathways to a brighter future. Designed to bridge the tech skills divide, our bootcamps have already made a profound impact in the lives of learners by creating significant new job opportunities for thousands of career changers. Our bootcamps teach learners how to code, guide them through meaningful, real-world tech projects, and connect them with tech employers seeking newly qualified developers.

Tangible results: Empowering graduates

The impact of our programs speaks for itself. Over the past two years, we have helped over 2,000 graduates secure tech jobs, with a remarkable 237% increase in their earnings from their first job post-bootcamp. Our alumni have found success at over 700 employers, ranging from small startups to government and FTSE 100 employers including fintech company Chip, global giants Amazon, Barclays, and GSK, and government entities such as the Home Office, Department for Work & Pensions and the NHS.

A vision for the future

Looking at the future, securing this funding marks the dawn of another promising chapter for HyperionDev, reaffirming the indispensable role of skills development in today’s digital landscape. Through collaborative efforts with the UK’s Department for Education, alongside esteemed institutions in South Africa and the UK, and forging new partnerships across North America and Europe, we’re expanding our horizons and cemeting our position as a leader in global tech education.

We are excited to leverage this funding to continue to amplify our impact, particularly in our home country South Africa. Our commitment to making tech education accessible to all remains steadfast.

Closing the Gap: HyperionDev’s Commitment

This latest funding milestone marks a significant step forward in our mission to empower individuals and drive global tech skills development. Together, we are shaping the future of tech education, one learner at a time.
