How to fund your coding bootcamp

Posted by

So you’ve made your decision. You’ve been checking out our online coding bootcamps, and have decided to become a software engineer, full stack web developer, or data scientist on a mentored, intensive bootcamp. There’s just one final obstacle in the way: how do you pay for it?

Here are some ways that can fund most or even all of your coding bootcamp.

Payment plans to save on tuition fees

At HyperionDev we offer a variety of payment plans, from paying the full amount upfront (with an added discount), to paying a monthly fee, to paying your bootcamp fees in agreed installments. Make sure you speak to your admissions consultant about all your available options, so that you can make the best financial decision for you.

HyperionDev offers several payment plans that make it easier to manage the cost of a bootcamp, with significant discounts on upfront or full payments.

Bursaries and Scholarships

Scholarships and bursaries can reduce or even totally eliminate the cost of your coding bootcamp. At HyperionDev we offer merit-based scholarships for students from the US, UK and South Africa, making our bootcamps that much more accessible to those who would otherwise be left out.

You could be eligible for a partial scholarship for your coding bootcamp, so be sure to check our website or speak to an admissions consultant about how our scholarships work.

Work sponsorships

If you’re planning on doing your coding bootcamp while working, it could be a good idea to talk to your boss or manager. There are many benefits to employers  to invest in their employees’ skills.

Companies understand that long-term skills development is cheaper than cold hiring to fill positions. It’s cheaper and simpler for your employer to pay for someone who they know and trust to upskill and move into a developer role, than spending months and thousands of rand on the often months-long hiring process for a brand-new software engineer.

If you can demonstrate how your upskilling will be of direct benefit to the company, very often your boss will agree to pay for some of it. Businesses want to develop you. It’s better retention, future-proofing their workforce, and it carries tax rebates for skills development.

Get a study loan from our funding partners

To make our affordable coding bootcamps even more accessible, we’ve recently launched brand-new partnerships with financial services providers to fund up to 100% of your bootcamp, repaid in a payment plan that fits your career plans.

With our funding partner Manati, you can finance up to 100% of your bootcamp and pay it back over up to 36 months, cutting down the cost of your bootcamp to as little as R790 per month.
